The 1745D is built for smaller hay operations that want Hesston quality without needing a big tractor. It runs on as little as 40 PTO HP, one hydraulic remote, and a 12-volt power supply, and turns out dense, square-shouldered 4'x5' bales for dry hay production. Although it's priced as an economy baler, it includes features usually found only on premium machines: a two-cylinder density system that keeps pressure on the density arms constant, wedge-grip forming belts, and an open-throat design with a single feed-assist roller that gets the bale core turning as soon as crop enters the chamber. Its clutchless drop-and-go design stops the belt while a bale unloads, so you never have to shut off the PTO between bales. The legendary Hesston drive system uses only five drive chains and simple hydraulic tension, and staggered belts with few trash collection points keep maintenance low and downtime short. Twine tie comes standard. The optional mesh wrap is borrowed from Hesston's 2900 Series commercial balers, loads easily, and puts a tight, even wrap on every bale, and the simple control box applies twine or mesh automatically. It is designed, engineered, and built in the USA.

Designed to fit both custom and commercial operations, Massey Ferguson RK Series wheel rakes, MF RK Series rotary rakes and MF 3900 Series rakes gently sweep your crop in even fluffy windrows for faster drying and better baling.

Hesston equipment is built in Hesston, Kansas, where the factory has made farm machinery for more than 55 years. Hesston engineers pioneered the big baler concept in the 1970s. Today the plant runs 13 production lines. When you buy a Hesston baler, you're buying from the people who helped invent modern hay baling.
Choosing hay equipment is a decision you'll live with for 10 to 20 seasons. This page lays out what Hesston by Massey Ferguson hay tools offer, how they compare with the other major brands, and why Southern Maryland farmers buy them from Budds Creek Equipment.
